The earliest Byzantium art started about 6th century ago. At that time, the Byzantium art has also been used for the art of states which were belonging to the same time with the Byzantium Empire. The country such as Bulgaria, Serbia or Russia, and also Venice, which had close ties to the Byzantium Empire, had shared a common culture with it. These Byzantium culture continue until the fall of the Constantinople in 1453, which causes by the attack of Turkey.
The very first Byzantium court, which we can say the earliest Byzantium building, was build using a prototype of Italy church’s floor plan. For example, both of them were using same type of ached roof top. Yet, from the visual of construction, between all the wall under the arched roof has a problem of can’t coordinate properly. So, when in the 10th century, most of the region’s building had changed their design to a radiation design. This kind of cent re and design are very suitable for eastern parochial education. This design was showed very clear through the statue decoration, picture on the paint wall and inside the cathedral. They have cover the whole building including the arched roof, wall and pillar, to make the express language of the pain combine with the building.
This sacred design has reflected a kind of religious ceremony: the story of Jesus and Mother Marry were written over the whole building, it is different from the western church which pain out the story on the wall by following the develop of the plot sequentially, in order to cooperate with the sermon and impels need. After the characteristic of figure image has been lay down, standardization face shape has come as a replacement. The plane bodily form of the people in the picture and with the border form by curvy line makes the painting give out a feeling of soul getting out from the body. The color and the drawing tactics that have been use make the picture look sacred; the strength of the spirit was clearly shown out. Those figure were look rigorously enforce with a good gesture and a Byzantium face shape ,big eyes and sharp expression in eyes, as well as a typical gold color background. The back ground isolated behind the figure had created an imagination of different dimension between the spectator and the wall pain.
The empire of Byzantium doesn’t come out with many kind of sculpture, except for the small relief sculpture on an elephant’s tusk in use for books front cover and for boxers.
